YOGA AT THE HERITAGE CENTER

Join Mike Tappero every Tuesday & Thursday nights at 6:30PM at the Heritage. (except major holidays!) at the Heritage Center for a bi-weekly dose of Zen. Mike’s yoga sessions are good for all age levels and experience levels. You must supply your own mat, blocks and any other items you may need for your practice. Mike is a 500hr certified yoga instructor, He completed his 200hr certification through Indigo Wellness Studio in 2014 and his 300hr certification through Tapas Yoga Shala in 2019. Mike has taught classes at Shine Yoga studio, formerly in Moline, as well as at the Hampton Heritage Center since 2014. Mike currently teaches two mornings per week at Revive Café in East Moline, and two evening classes at the Heritage Center. All classes at the Heritage Center location are by donation only. All donations received from the Heritage Center classes are passed along to animal welfare organizations in the Quad Cities. If you have questions, or just want to see what yoga is all about, please stop by the Heritage Center on Tuesday & Thursday nights at 6:30PM. No registration is necessary.The Village of Hampton operates as an incorporated Village as set forth in the Illinois Revised Statutes, and as a general purpose unit of local government as provided for in the Constitution of the State of Illinois. The underlying purpose of any local government body is to assure the health, safety and welfare of its residents. To accomplish this purpose, the Village of Hampton provides services noted in the organizational chart above. The Village’s Operating Budget is approximately $823,578. Copies are available at request. The Village averages 3 full-time employees, and 21 part-time & seasonal employees, depending on the season and varying requirements to provide services.

PLEASE CONTACT the CLERK’s OFFICE (309)755-7165 to register your Cart or Golf Cart. With the warmer weather among us so are the golf carts or carts. Please bring a copy of your driver's license and insurance card to the clerk’s office for a sticker. County Deputies will be looking for this registration sticker.
CART OR GOLF CART: a motorized vehicle with three or four wheels designed and manufactured for operation on a golf course for sporting or recreational purposes, powered by an electric motor or a gasoline engine less than 1200 CC in size, and that is not capable of exceeding speeds of 20 MPH. Cart also includes John Deere brand Gators, either 4 or 6 wheeled, not capable of speeds in excess of 20 MPH. Lawn and garden tractors or riding lawn mowers, Go karts and ATVs are not included in this definition and are not considered carts for the purposes of this section.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: liability insurance coverage on a cart.
OPERATOR: a person holding a valid driver's license.
PERMIT REQUIRED: Carts shall not be operated on Village of Hampton streets until the cart is registered by the owner. Permit fee is twenty and 00/100 dollars ($20.00) payable upon registration and issue of a sticker.
RULES OF THE ROAD:
Operators of carts on the Village Streets will obey all traffic laws, speeds, and traffic control devices and signs the same as any vehicle.
Operators of carts shall stay to the right of the traveled portion of the road and yield to overtaking vehicles.
Carts will only be operated between the hours of one half hour before sunrise and one half hour after sunset.
Carts shall not be operated when visibility is impaired by weather, smoke, fog or other conditions.
Carts shall not be operated on any sidewalk or the bike path except by permission of the Board of Trustees, or as stated in Section 4.7.5.E of the Hampton Code of Ordinances.
Carts shall not be operated on any grassy or non-paved portion of any park, right-of-way (boulevard) or any other Village property except at the direction of an official directing traffic. This section does not preclude the operation of carts on the designated shoulder of a street or roadway.
Carts shall not be operated on any State of Illinois Highway (Route 84) except to cross the highway at a right angle to a Village street on the opposite side within the crossing zone.
Carts shall not be operated on any County or Township road except in accordance with directives from the Township or County.
Operators who drive carts on Village streets shall adhere to Illinois Motor Vehicle laws governing the possession and use of alcoholic beverages and all other illegal drugs while operating the cart on Village streets.
All carts shall display a slow moving vehicle emblem on the rear of the cart, of the size and shape determined by standard ASAE S 276.5 dated November 1997 by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, for such sign.
The number of occupants of a cart is limited by the number of individual seats installed and/or provided for on the cart. The operator and all occupants of the cart shall be seated in the cart, and no part of the operator's or passenger's body shall be extending outside of the cart while the cart is in motion.
Owners of carts registered and operated on Village streets are required to show proof of liability insurance upon request.
No cart as defined in this Section, shall be operated on any street within the Village unless, at a minimum, it has the following: brakes; a steering apparatus; tires; a rearview mirror; red reflectorized warning devices in the front and rear; a headlight that emits a white light visible from a distance of 500 feet to the front; a tail lamp that emits a red light visible from at least 100 feet from the rear; brake lights; and turn signals.
A cart shall have its headlights and taillights lighted when operated on Village streets.
